This tool uses a long, comfortable handle and a fine thread for the leverage needed to remove tight crank arms.

Rotating tip ensures smooth operation and long life.

The coated handle helps prevent taking paint off of your expensive bike frame.

Don't damage your cranks by trying to losen them with a hammer - use the correct tool.

Note: The CCP-44 will not work on crank arms that fit standard square, tapered bottom bracket spindles - for that you will need the CCP-22.

You may need to remove the covering nut so you can identify the bracket type - this is normally done with an 8mm allen key / hex wrench.

Instructions for using the Park Tool CCP-44 crank puller:

Remove the crank bolt and washer using the proper allen key (normally 8mm) Clean the internal threads of the crank arm so that when you screw in the tool you get a good grip into the tread.

Unscrew the nut from the handle and puller-stud until it touches the rotating tip.

Screw the nut (of this tool) into the crank arm and tighten with wrench / spanner until snug.

If the nut is not fully screwed into the crank arm then it is possible that the threads of the crank arm and the nud may be damaged - so take care.

Screw handle and puller-stud into nut.

When resistance is felt, continue turning handle cluckwise - screwing handle and puller-stud into the nut until the crank arm is removed.

Confused? The tool has a diagram with these instructions on the back. (which may make it clearer for you)
