Brompton S-type handlebar stem assembly with MATT finish

Sorry, this item is only available as supply AND fit.

The handlebar stem for S-type (straight / sports handlebars) Brompton folding bikes. The S-type handlebars/stem were intoroduced in 2007 and use the same on all model years (so far).

The handlebar stem consists of two parts (pre assembled) and comes with a hinge clamp. Also includes the bolt / lock nut which makes up part of the threaded headset.

    on 21/12/2018     I note your web site says the handlebar stem assembly can only be supplied if fitted by yourselves. I am converting an M type to an S type and am very capable of doing this myself.. I understand this may be instructions from Brompton but if you are willing to supply can you let me know what colours are available Answer:
    Brompton have a very strict policy on supply of certain items - including frame parts. They can only be supplied and fitted, sending them to you could result in the loss of ability to sell Brompton folding bikes or their associated spare parts . If you were to get the part fitted by a dealer, you could get any of the current frame parts.

    Hi, we are unable to ship frame parts such as the handlebar stem. Brompton will only let us supply them if we also fit them.

    This is because at the moment Brompton are not supplying frame parts, they are also supply and fit only.

    Yes, the S-type stem is longer than both the old and new M-Type stems. Approx: measurements as follow: S-Type stem 37 mm, Old M-Type stem 30 mm, new M-Type stem 30 mm.

    Yes, this will fit a pre-2007 Brompton. Sorry the frame parts need to be fitted by a dealer as part of Bromptons terms, we understand this is based on historical failures of people fitting them correctly.
