Availability date:
This Brompton Mini O-bag was new for 2012 from Ortlieb, the most respected name in waterproof cycle luggage - just the job for the wet winter weather.
This 7 litre bag from Ortlieb is designed for Brompton with a fitting for fixing to the front carrier block.
Note: The front carrier block is sold separately here.
Ortlieb has created this bag specifically to work with the Brompton front luggage system.
The Brompton Mini O bag comes with the finish and functionality you would expect from Ortlieb and is offered in four colours:
Apple Green - new for 2013
Arctic Blue (this one) - introduced in 2012 and being discontinued in 2013
Black - new for 2013
White - introduced in 2012
Comes supplied with a shoulder strap. (No rainproof cover is supplied as it is not necessary).
Brompton front luggage options are based on the Brompton 'Front Carrier System'. Luggage is attached via a frame that latches securely onto a tapered block. It takes a second to attach or release your bag and the load is attached directly to the main frame - with little effect on steering.

Beautifully made and looks great, but a few niggles in use
It looks great and matches Artic Blue and Cornflower Bromptons very well. When I first received it I struggled to open the top of the bag - it flaps forward not backwards. Luckily I hadn't taken my Stanley knife to the vinyl hinges to open it. The detachable shoulder strap tends to detach itself if you rotate it around the lugs. It does click into place on the lugs but they are so close to the lid that they interfere with each other a bit. When you close the lid the magnetised press closures can be a bit tricky to locate and there's a potential disaster awaiting if you forget to close it and lift it by the top handle when it's full of goodies as you rush off the train. Inside there's space for a few books and a bit lof lunch, it won't taken an A4 envelope which is a shame. You can safely ride with it open however. Finally it is possible to fold the bike and leave the bag in place, which is nifty but the handlebar screw clamp lever does bind against the bag's mounting point a bit which is a shame as it slows you down as you fold and unfold the bike.
