Brompton Rack Bag - Black

This Brompton rack bag (black version) was discontinued in 2024 and replaced with a slightly smaller grey coloured rack bag - slightly smaller so that it fits on the advanced roller rack used on the P Line (as well as the rack used on the C Line)

The Rack Bag (previously called the rack sack or R bag) was purpose-designed for the Brompton rear rack, offering a very secure, showerproof solution

This bag was designed to sit on the Brompton rear rack to alow for extra luggage carrying

The only disadvantage is that if you fold the Brompton into the parked position - the bag is in the way

As of April 2021 the inside of the R bag is green (sometimes)

Can stay on the bike when folded too

This is a super 16L bag that's great for nipping to the shops but would also accommodate something like a small tent and sleeping bag. Comes with a helpful instruction leaflet, but I also found a video called "Brompton folding bike - Rack Sack" from NYCeWheels which shows how to attach it - and how to flip it around so it can stay on the bike even when folded. Fantastic service from Brilliant Bikes - I stumbled across them through their video series and was delighted with how quickly my order arrived.

Racksack for Brompton 'R' Type

With it's yellow interior an improvement on my original rack sack bought years ago. When not needing to fold the bike it makes a very useful storage solution with low centre of gravity. Should really have fitting instructions with it as not obvious which way securing straps are routed.

Genuine Brompton: very flexible

Easy to assemble and fit, this bag makes excellent use of the rack space available on the Brompton. It is easy to detach, and can be used 'over the shoulder' for a good while. Makes a good complement to a bag mounted on the front post when using the bike for longer vacations.
