What does H6L mean?

It's quite simple really - all there are 4 Brompton models:- H / M / S / P

H=handlebar type - the H type handlebar was introduced in 2012 and designed for a more upright riding position (approx 6cm higher at the front than the original M-type Brompton)

6=6 gears - this is a 3 speed Brompton Sturmey Archer rear wheel with hub gear, combines with Bromptons own 2 speed derailleur giving 6 speeds in total

L=With mudguards (front and rear)
There are also R - Rack and E - No mudguard or rack models available

This bike is complete with front carrier block (for easy carrying of Brompton luggage), battery lighting (front and rear) as well as Schwalbe Marathon tyres

The 6 speed Brompton is rapidly becoming the the most popular model with 6 gears in a wide gear ratio makes hill climbing that bit easier

Because the Brompton folds to such a small size means it is accepted on just about all public transport, can be stored under your desk when at work or in a small cupboard when at home

3. Handlebars
2017 onwards style H-type - the classic Brompton shape offering a comfortable ride - silver handlebars, but on an extended H-type stem giving a more upright ride position
New (introduced in 2017) lock-on handlebar grips - held in place with an allen bolt instead of glue

4. Gears / drivechain
6 speed BWR (Brompton Wide Ratio) internal hub gear equipped rear wheel plus 2 speed derailleur system (giving 6 gears in total)

5. Front luggage system
A front carrier block is included to make the addition of luggage (Brompton bags) easy
The Brompton luggage system allows you to carry stuff on the bike without interfering with the ride or rider

6. Mudguards
Front and rear mudguards for all weather riding / commuting

7. Roller wheels
Standard roller wheels help keep the bike stable when folded 

8. Tyres / Wheels
Schwalbe Marathon 16 x 1.35 inch tyres with reflective sidewall to help make you more visible to cars when riding in the dark 
Low rolling resistance and good puncture protection 
16 inch (ETRTO size 349) wheels with double wall rim and 28 spokes
Schrader / car type 8mm valve 

9. Saddle
Standard Brompton saddle

10. Seat height
Standard seatpost for riders with an inside leg measurement of up to 33 inches
(If you are taller - up to 35 inch inside leg - then an extended length seatpost can be fitted at no extra cost)
For very tall riders a telescopic seatpost is available at extra cost 

11. Suspension
From 2018 there is only one suspension - equivalent to the old hard/firm suspension block

Battery lighting front and rear
The front light is the Cateye Volt 400 - USB rechargeable
The rear light is a combined reflector / light - battery powered
