2017 Tempest Blue / Grey Brompton folding bike model M3L (M=handlebar type, 3=3 gears, L=with mudguards)

The Brompton is perfect for all but extreme types of riding (it's not a mountain bike!) from the daily commute to popping to the pub / bank / cafe to accompanying the kids on their ride to school to touring in a canal boat or keeping in the back of your car for when you want to get a quick ride in!

Folding up to such a small size means it is accepted on just about all public transport, can be stored under your desk when at work or in a small cupboard when at home. We recommend not locking it up outside - but take it in with you!

Brompton 2017 Tempest Blue / Grey M3L folding bicycle specification:

1. Frame
Regular - all steel
Folded size: 585mm wide x 565mm tall by 270mm deep

2. Colour
Main frame: Tempest Blue
Extremities: Grey (new for 2017)

3. Handlebars
M-type - 2017 low rise - the classic Brompton shape offering a comfortable ride with black handlebar grips, slightly modified for the 2017 model Brompton to give a bit more rigidity, more space for grips on the bars but the same riding position as previous M-type (by increasing the stem length slightly)

3 speed BSR (Brompton Standard Ratio) internal hub gear equipped rear wheel
Standard chain tensioner
54T front spider chainring (for increased gearing over standard)
100 link Brompton / SRAM chain with powerlink
Folding left hand pedal
Non-folding right hand pedal 

5. Front luggage system
No Front carrier block fitted 
This can be fitted later to allow you to add from the wide range of Brompton luggage options
Brompton luggage attaches quickly to the front carrier block and doesn't affect the handling when riding

6. Mudguards
Front and rear mudguards for all weather riding / commuting 

7. Roller wheels
Standard roller wheels help keep the bike stable when folded

Brompton Kevlar tyres
16 inch (ETRTO size 349) wheels with double wall rim and 28 spokes

9. Saddle
Brompton WIDE saddle - introduced in 2017 for a more comfortable ride

10. Seat height
Standard length seatpost for riders with an inside leg measurement up to 33 inches
(If you are taller - inside leg greater than 33 inches - then we can fit an extended length seat post at no extra cost)
For very tall riders a telescopic seatpost is available (unfortunately at an extra cost and with a weight penalty)

11. Suspension
Standard suspension - best for riders under 70kg or preferring more suspension during their ride
(If you are above this weight - then we can fit a firm suspension block for no extra cost)
