SMA3 comp (competition) - the Comfort All-Mountain Saddle.

A comfortable quality saddle is one of the secrets to enjoyable riding - after all it's one of the 3 contact points - along with grips and pedals, and you want to be kind to your backside!

This saddle offers the perfect balance between performance and comfort. Developed with the Freeride-Legend Richie Schley, Ergon-Factory Rider. Anatomic V-shape and a narrow sloping rear allows for quick change from seated to downhill position. Closed Aircell seat foam for highest saddle support and optimal pressure distribution. Relief channel for optimum pressure relief in the perineal area. High durability and abrasion resistance by integrating edge protection.

Shape: V-Shape saddle top for optimal freedom of movement, and easy position changes. 

Relief Channel: Helps to provide increased protection for soft tissue areas.

Rear: Narrow sloping rear with flat contour, allows for fast changes from seated to downhill position. 

Surface: Easy-care, microfibre covering provides optimal support and guaranteed durability. To keep in best condition clean off sweat and dirt accumulated during use with a non-petroleum based cleaner - use only soap and water.

Padding Construction: CNC machined, orthopaedic AirCell padding provides enhanced support and optimal pressure distribution. 

Large-Area Pressure Distribution: Provides optimal pressure distribution for sit and pelvic bones, the contoured surface area helps prevent saddle discomfort.

Side Flanks: Silicone side flanks promote greater pedaling efficiency, by reducing friction while pedaling. 

Rail attachment: The way that the saddles attach to the saddle - isolated rail attachment prevents direct impact transmission to the seating area. Rail positioning allows for optimal flex and comfort in conjunction with the Y-flex shell.

Padding: CNC machined orthopedic AirCell padding provides enhanced support and optimal pressure distribution.

3D saddle shell: Shell design allows increased space for padding in the sit bone area.

But - what's the difference between the different Ergon SMA3 models?

Safety:
Ensure that your seatpost is compatible with the saddle rails - if in doubt consult your local bike shop
Pay attention to the clamping zone markings on the saddle rails

Saddle adjustment:
When setting up your saddle take into account the amount of sag you have when sat on the nike  and the riding style
Downhill - point about 10 degrees up
Enduro - saddle level while riding
If you are experiencing discomfort from the back of the saddle - point the nose up a bit
If you are slipping back off the saddle - point the nose down a bit
