This black Brompton right hand (as you sit on the bike) folding pedal features more black than the original standard Brompton right hand pedal
This pedal was originally only available on BLACK Edition and other special edition bikes (such as the CHPT3) - which were the first to have black detailing - but since 2022 these have been standard on new Brompton folding bikes
This is not the old plastic RH (Right Hand) Brompton pedal which used to fall apart - and was also predominantly black, but made of plastic
This one (based on the aluminium pedal introduced around 2009) has an aluminium cage. This pedal weighs approx. 126g
There is even Brompton detailing on the spindle - a folded Brompton on one side and an unfolded Brompton on the other side
The pedals have amber coloured reflectors (held on with two screws per reflector) to give you better visibility at night and meet the road regulations
Brompton compatibility:
This pedal will fit a B75 / A Line - the thread size is the same, though this is not the original plastic pedal that was supplied with them (and won't match the left hand pedal unless you also get a folding left pedal to match)
This is the pedal currently supplied as standard
This pedal was supplied as standard on many early P Line and P Line electric Brompton bikes - though now they use the super light pedals - where the left one is removable and stows in the rear of the front fork instead of folding like the counterpart of this one So if you had one of these on your early P Line and have damaged / worn it out - this is the one for you (unless you want a complete set of super light pedals as a replacement) |
This pedal would fit but is quite different to the flat / platform pedals supplied with the Bromtpon G Line launched in 2024
This pedal would fit but would be a backwards step (in our opinion) compared to the super light pedals supplied as standard on the T Line |
Note: The thread on the right hand pedal means that you do it up in the normal way - turn clockwise (or to the right if you don't wear a watch). This means that over time (as you pedal) the thread can become tighter and tighter - which may make it difficult to remove
Tools required / installation:This pedal can be fitted / removed using one of two tools: Tool option 1 /
Preferably a pedal wrench / spanner to give good leverage as pedals can become screwed on pretty tight after years of hard pushing for removal Tool option 2/
The allen key hole is accessed through the hole in the pedal crank
Apply some grease to the thread to make future removal easier and hand tighten the pedal first before using a tool to fully tighten |
