Different cable specifications / lengths are used so that the fold works properly.
In the UK - where we are based, as we drive on the left, the front brake lever is on the right and the rear is on the left (this is sometimes used as moto style - as it is also the way used on motorbikes)
If you require brake cables for a reverse set-up - with the front brake on the left, please contact us as we keep these in stock but don't currently list them - to avoid confusion

To keep the fold of the Brompton optimal, different models of Brompton use different length brake cables - and of course the spec (or length) is different for front or rear brake
The short wheelbase version of the Brompton was discontinued approx 2004 - and the cables for these are no longer available as separate items. Putting SwissStop BXP pads (the model used by the Brompton Electric) on any Brompton will improve the stopping (and reduce the rim wear)
Brompton Brake Levers / Calipers and small associated parts
The ‘newer’ - since 2017 brake levers have the ability to mount an integrated shifter and / or bell and / or Brompton Be Seen lights
The same caliper is used for front and rear brake - if you have an older Brompton and want a newer caliper then you will need to drill a larger hole in the rear of the fork
if you want to replace older style brakes then you may need shorter handlebar grips (depending upon handlebar type)
