Brompton BLACK edition extended length seatpost - as supplied on the Brompton BLACK limited edition range and now available to the after-market since 2016.
The extended length Brompton seatpost is designed for the slightly taller rider (as a guide, with an inside leg 33 to 35 inches) - this seatpost gives up to 6cm extra saddle height than the standard Brompton seat pillar
PLEASE NOTE: The saddle will sit 60mm higher when the bike is in its folded position. This is due to the extra 60mm length on top of the seatpost.
Replacing the standard seatpost with this longer one is one of the easiest DIY Brompton jobs, and involves the following steps:
Colour: Black
Dameter: 31.8mm
Remember! Never lubricate your Brompton seatpost
Brompton Q part code: QSP6P-BK
Brompton part number: 9001040
We made this short video on how to remove and re-install a seatpost on your Brompton folding bike
Not compact
Be aware that the extended seatpost makes you folded bike less compact - the extra 60mm means the saddle sits 60mm higher in the folded position, which is the difference between it siting between seats on a train and it not...
If you value the compactness of the brompton (And why have one otherwise), then go with the (More expensive) telescopic post, this adds closer to 30mm, but allows the seat to be easily removed if you do end up wanting to hide the bike in a tight spot.
Brilliant Bikes were great with a swapover, so top marks for them
Superb
