Tubolito make inner tubes with a difference. This inner tube weighs in at only 43g, which is a lot lighter (about 40g less) than many comparable size inner tubes

Tubolito say it is also about 2x stronger than standard inner tubes

The durability has been measured by a needle penetration test, this measures the force needed to penetrate the inner tube using a mandrel and the result was that they required twice the force to penetrate than a standard tube (this was MTB inner tubes).

These Tubolito tubes are also made in an environmentally friendly way, using less materials / water during the manufacturing process

This is a bonus as well, they are environmentally friendly compared to standard inner tubes. The process used to make the TPU used less CO2 and water than standard manufacturing processes.  

The Tubolito inner tubes are made from TPU (thermoplastic urethane) - a materiel widely used in the automotive industry - which makes them lighter and more durable than standard inner tubes. 

The thermal resistance has been tested in accordance with DIN ISO 4210

They are orange - is this so you can spot them?
No, this is to highlight the innovative nature of the inner tubes. 

The inner tube can be pumped up using a stand pump or a CO2 canister, the maximum pressure is dependent upon on your tyre choice and not the tubolito.

This inner comes with a Presta / racing type valve.

You should still check the tyre pressure monthly (for most tubes it's weekly). Running a tyre under inflated will mean that you need to put more effort into cycling and can result in damage to the tube / tyre or even the rim.

Repairing the tubolito inner tubes 

The tubolitos can be patched using the Tube-Flix-Kit. It is simple to use, with no separate glue, the tubolito Flix-Kit is provided with wipes to clean the area and patches. 

This tubolito inner tube fits ETRTO / ISO tyre sizes as shown below:
37-340 - 16 x 1 3/8" and 400 x 35A
28-349 - 16 x 1 1/8"
37-349 - 16 x 1 3/8"
28-355 - 18 x 1 1/8"
35-355 - 18 x 1.35"
35-349 - 16 x 1.35" 
(The ETRTO size is the most accurate way of selecting the correct inner tube and can be found on the side of the tyre) 

Q: What is the valve cap for?

The valve cap supplied with the tubolito inner tubes should be used. It prevents dirt / water and chemicals from getting inside the valve and causing corrosion and damage - meaning the valve / tube will last longer.

Note - if used with a Brompton, you would need a valve hole converter - as the Brompton standard rim uses an 8mm hole (for Schrader valve)

Fitting of the tyre / inner tube:

We recommend against using tyre levers when installing a tyre and tube, as it can cause damage to the tyre / inner tube or both. It may seem difficult or even impossible at first - but it is just technique, practice and patience
