Stans DART tool - Dual Action Repair for Tubeless

Stan's developed the Dual Action Repair for Tubeless (known as DART) to repair larger slices and punctures in tubeless tyres easier, faster and more reliably than existing tyre plugs. Their dual action darts create both a mechanical and chemical seal, unlike traditional tyre plugs. The DART anchors into punctures, creating a simple and safe chemical reaction with your Stan's sealant to quickly form an airtight bond. The DARTs patent pending ability to react with latex sealant makes tubeless tyre repair easy, fast and reliable for all riders.

The DARTs sonically welded plastic tip and heavy duty woven material anchor firmly in place and stay put during riding, while being safer for rims, rim tape, and your hands. The strong flexible laser-cut material contours to punctures and maximizes surface area sealing power. The DART won't pull out of your tyre while riding the way a conventional plug can, due to its bond with the sealant and anchoring. The DART doesn’t require trimming once inserted, excess material won’t get in the way of your ride, it can’t be felt while riding (even on road tyres) and wears smooth naturally.

Weighing only 15g, the DART Tool is designed to be extremely light, durable and compact, fitting into pockets and packs, while offering an ergonomic design that’s easy to hold and allows precise placement. The DART Tool’s handle includes a built-in valve core remover, making it easy to add sealant. The tool is made of an ultra-strong but light molded plastic and the rod that presses DARTs into punctures is made of ultralight, corrosion-resistant and incredibly strong carbon. The DART Tool is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Easy use and rapid deployment were main priorities of the development of the DART Tool. Its carbon insertion rod is calibrated to let you insert DARTs to the perfect depth every time, just by pressing until the head of the tool contacts your tyre. Removing guess work, or damage to rim or rim tape during a fast repair. The head of the DART Tool is double-sided and reversible, allowing it to hold two sealed DARTs on each side. This makes it possible to install two DARTs quickly when sealing the largest slices and punctures and even multiple punctures. Clear thread-on caps protect the stored DARTS, keeping them clean and ready to use, while being quick to unthread for fast deployment. The DART Tool packs all this repair capability into a compact shape that easily fits in any pocket or pack.

DART tool instructions:

  1. Locate the puncture and carefully remove any sharp objects lodged in the tyre (Please note- for larger punctures multiple darts may be installed)
  2. Unthread the clear cap to expose a fresh dart
  3. Align the tip of the DART tool with the puncture, and push the tip and dart into the puncture until the body of the DART tool contacts the body of the tyre and the barbs are completely inserted into the tyre (Please note- dependent on the puncture and tyre type varying amounts of dart material will remain exposed outside the tyre)
  4. Remove the DART tool from the tyre and reinstall the clear cap
  5. Rotate the wheel to a position where the inserted dart is at the lowest point of the tyre allowing the sealant to gravitate towards the puncture (Please note- if the puncture continues to leak air or sealant, add another to help fill the puncture)
  6. Re-inflate the tyre to desired pressure and continue riding (Please note- if inflating with C02, ensure you replace with air and fresh sealant when you return from your ride)
