The emergency tyre boot from Park Tool is the fastest, easiest, and most secure way to repair a cut or worn tyre sidewall. It's also cheaper than trying to make the same repair using a 5 pound note. However ... could it be cheaper to carry some Duck tape with you and use that ... now that is the question?

The TB-2 emergency tyre boot (pack of 3) from Park Tool is produced using a strong, waterproof vinyl membrane with fiber weave reinforcement.
A super strong pressure sensitive adhesive assures the boot stays in place in any tyre, road or mountain, high or low pressure.
A true ride saver.
The TB-2 measures approximately 76mm x 45mm (3" X 1.75")
Weight: 11.2g (0.4oz)
Park Tool Reference: TB-2
Rarely needed, but excellent if you do.
These are cheap, last forever in your tool kit and weigh nothing. More resistant to sharps than either bank notes or Duck tape, if you ever have to use one of these, replace the affected tyre as soon as possible.
If you replace tyres before they're too far gone, you're unlikely to need this, but you'll almost certainly one day be riding with someone who does. When that happens, you will:
a) be regarded an a bike-wrenching deity,
b) be plied with enough beer and coffee to make the original purchase worth while, and most of all
c) get your group moving again instead of suffering repeated punctures.
