Birdy rear replacement ‘Spoon’

Replacement rear ‘Spoon’ for Birdy folding bikes by Riese and Muller from 2001 onwards. This kit contains the following items:

1 x Spoon
1 x Gegenhalterplatte or backing plate
2 x Unterlegscheibe or washers (d = 5,3 mm DIN 125 A2)
2 x Zylinderschraube mit niedrigem Kopf or flat headed screw (M 5 x 12 mm ISO 6912 A2)

The rear swing arm on the Riese and Muller Birdy models from 2001 is locked in place using a plastic molded part, this is called a ‘Spoon’ due to the shape (but we don’t think you could eat your yogurt with it!) 

To install, fix the counter holder plate to the outside of the ‘Spoon’ with adhesive tape. Fix the screws from the inside through the swing arm profile into the counter holder plate. 
The screw must be in contact with the sera tube or 3 to 4 threads must be visible on the outside. Adjust the position of the ‘Spoon’ so that the rear suspension has no play. Tighten the screws to 4-6 Nm.
