Well actually it's the Brompton e-Motiq handlebar control unit which launched with the 2026 (autumn 2025) Brompton G Line, C Line, P Line and T Line electric folding bikes

The G Line electric handlebar control includes

• Walk Assist (or should it be called run assist)

to help you walk (especially on steep hills) - it powers up to 6kmh without the need to pedal

• Start Assist

to help you get away from the lights or get started on a steep hill - it powers up to 13km with pedal assistance - but less than would normally be required for pulling away - when you hit 13kmh the motor will kick in to assist you normally

It also allows you to control:

• power level
• lighting modes

without having to reach down and touch the battery / use the Brompton Electric App
