Brompton G Line Handlebar catch assembly

This replacement handlebar catch assembly was introduced in 2024 with the Brompton G Line

It is not compatible with the A, C, P or T Line Brompton bicycles 

This kit comprises the following: 

• G Line handlebar catch assembly
• Serrated washer for the handlebar catch assembly 
• Flat washer for the handlebar catch assembly 
• Bolt for the handlebar catch assembly
• G Line handlebar nipple
• 2 x flat washers for the nipple
• 1 bolt to hold the nipple in place

This is one of the "Brompton Essentials" - a part necessary to keep your Brompton folding as it should.

In a properly set up Brompton, the final part of the fold should be to undo the clamp holding the stem into place and the handlebar assembly will drop down and clip into the catch automatically.

It's made of a tough plastic/nylon material - sometimes over time this can become brittle and break. (Breakage is also more likely if it's not quite set in the right position to allow a clean fold)

Fitting and adjustment instructions are not included in the packaging, so should be installed as follows:

• Fold the handlebar down to access the bolt for the handlebar catch which is inside the stem
• Undo the bolt using a 4 mm Allen key
• Remove the handlebar catch from the outside of the stem
• Replace the handlebar catch 
• Install the serrated washer then the handlebar catch followed by the flat washer and tighten the bolt using a 4mm Allen key
• The nipple is installed on the lower part of the stem and accessed when the handlebar is folded. The two washers are inserted between the frame and the nipple and held in place using the small bolt which is tightened using a 3mm Allen Key

Tools required: 4mm and 3mm Allen key / hex wrench
