This is the hub supplied on 6 speed Brompton, it actually contains a 3 speed internal gearing system which - when combined with the 2 speed Brompton derailleur system - gives 6 gears in total

    on 28/05/2019     Hi there. I have a Brompton 3-spd WIDE-RANGE hub+internal (for 6-spd) and my bike was made in April 2016. I noticed about a year ago that although the gears all shift perfectly, the hub has a loud and irritating rattle on uneven road surfaces. I have tested this against other new Brompton bikes which have no rattle whatsoever over the same surface. I this a design fault and should I replace it with a new hub or can you suggest an obvious solution to stopping the rattle on uneven road surfaces. I look forward to hearing from you.     The Brompton hub can be serviced - and most of the spare internal parts are also available individually. There are videos on youtube showing how it comes apart if you are looking to do it yourself.
