Agree alloy are brittle. Why not use titanium given near indestructibility of rack itself? One Glasgow firm- Kinetics- makes stainless rear triangle with integral rack.
Forward stay weakness
1. there are no instructions to fit the stays unlike all the other brompton video tutorials. I may have missed one. It's a little imprecise. And may lead to straining the stays unless you get it exactly right...
2.My replacement broke at the palace is has a hole as the previous buyer commented. But I have to buy another to replace it.....
Rear struts have design flaw.
The alloy struts have a hole drilled into them for moisture, I assume. However that creates a perfect area for the strut to break since its a built in weak point. Needs to be built without a hole drilled into it, or a different material should be used instead of brittle aluminium alloy.
