3-speed sprocket set for BWR

It's discontinued by Brompton but don't worry - we have a solution

The BWR (Brompton Wide Ratio) wheel was always designed to be used as a 6-speed wheel - by using two rear sprockets 

However, some people preferred the simplicity of just 3-speeds and losing the derailleur 

The solution was this sprocket set which used just one sprocket and extra spacers - unfortunately it was discontinued by Brompton in 2022

But - you can use the single speed sprocket stack to achieve the same final result (except it will have a 12T sprocket instead of 13T)

Note: This was for wheels marked BWR only (on the rear hub)

It was not available as a factory fit option, but this sprocket stack lets you use your BWR (normally used as a 6 speed) with just 3 speeds - with a bigger jump between gears than using the derailleur in combination.

What was in the pack?

This is a kit of parts for the BWR sprocket stack for fixing to the Brompton / Sturmey Archer wide range (BWR) rear hub and contains the following parts:

  • Plastic chain guard
  • 13 tooth rear sprocket (3.1 mm) - Shimano splines
  • sprocket spacers (2.0mm and 2.0mm)
  • circlip
  • Fitting diagram

(Note: if you are replacing the sprocket due to wear - we also recomend that you replace the chain)
