Brompton Advance chain catcher (Tooled Version) - for P and T Line

This is a updated version (known as the tooled version) of the Brompton Advance chain catcher for P and T Line folding bike, with brass threaded inserts

The V2 Chain catcher has been fitted as standard to all Bompton folding bikes made after July 2023

It is available aftermarket and needed if you want to fit a 56t chainring to your bike

The chain catcher is a small component that keeps the chain in place over bumps and potholes in the road

Note: Only bikes with 4 / 12 speed gearing systems need a chain cather.

The chain catcher will only work with the four standard size of Brompton front chain ring

• 44T
• 50T
• 54T
• 56T

Fitting instructions: 

• Fit the chain catcher arm to the chain catcher base 
• Align according to the sized chain ring that is fitted to your Brompton, top hole for the 54 tooth, middle the 50 and bottom the 44 tooth chain ring
• Unfold the bike and select first gear (which is the largest sprocket)
• Clean the seat tube to ensure there is no grease present 
• Place a 3mm Hex (Allen) key on top of the chain to set the distance
• Remove the adhesive pad from the back of the chain catcher 
• Stick the chain catcher onto the seat tube to ensure the chain catcher is resting onto of the hex (Allen) key
• Ensure it does not overlap the serial number plate 
• Press and hold for 5 seconds
• leave for 25 minutes before riding  

Tools required:

• 3mm Hex (Allen) key 
• Cleaning cloth
