Brompton pre-2017 handlebar grips - Black

Black Brompton handlebar grips for M-type and H-type handlebars (The H-type and M-type handlebars are exactly the same - it's the handlebar stem assembly / frame - which differentiates the H-type from the M-type)

Please note: These are the newer (introduced on the 2013 model) grips - these grips are now without the curves and a darker colour, than the original grey grips used by Brompton prior to 2013

Please also note: These are not the grips for the 2017 onwards model Brompton

Quote from Brompton in 2013 "As a stop-gap before we (Brompton) can offer lock-on grips in 2014, the shape of the M Type grip will be tweaked to address complaints over the comfort afforded by the present double-concave shape. The new shape is straighter with a slight taper at the inboard end." - these lock on grips have now been delayed to production.

Note: As you will discover when trying to remove the old grips - they are stuck on with glue. Your new ones should also be held in place with a suitable adhesive. We recommend a liberal spray of GT-85, this helps slide the grips on, and when it dries out, it acts as an adhesive.

These grips seem to ave been discontinued in 2021 (though we are not 100% sure!) - so we made a video on alternatives

Looking for a locking bar grip for old M type bar. Which, if any, would you suggest please? Answer:
The Ergon GP1 - they need a little cutting off the end with a sharp knife - but work perfectly
