This metallic frame protector helps to prevent the advance rear triangle (also snappily known as the MK6 rear frame) from being scratched

If you look on Reddit you will see a lot of posts asking "what is this piece - it fell off of my Brompton?"

Brompton say it is actually designed as a temporary protection for shipping from the factory - and should be removed during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) - so no problem when it falls off!
