More info

Brompton two speed rear wheel

Brompton 1 or 2 speed rear wheel for all models of Brompton folding bikes complete with rim tape and fixings

The same wheel is used for the Brompton single and two speed rear wheel.

A different stack of sprockets / spacers is required based upon which configuration you need for the weel.

For a single speed Brompton use the single 12T sprocket set - QRSPRSTACK-BB1
For a two speed Brompton use the double 12T / 16T sprocket set - QRSPRSTACK-BB2

In addition, you will need wheel nuts - they are not supplied - as you could potentially use the old ones if you are replacing the same wheel type. The wheel nuts for the single / two speed Brompton rear wheel have the code QRW2NB.

This wheel (hub) uses Shimano style splines for the sprockets - so with the correct spacers / chain length you could use different sprocket sizes if required. Though as standard the single speed uses 12T and the two speed uses a 12T / 16T combination.

Brompton Q part code: QRW2SS
Brompton part number: 9025022

The rim is a double wall straight drilled rim and has 28 Spokes

The spokes (in case you need spares) are QSPOK-151-DB-14G - Double butted with two cross lacing

Valve hole designed for 8mm Schrader / car type valve

Bearing information:

The Brompton two speed hub uses:

6900-2RS in the non-drive side
6901-2RS in the drive side

And in the freewheel body:

Will this fit a 3 speed brompton? I’m looking to convert my 3 speed to single speed but it looks like the axles are different - 2 flat sides on the 3 speed but round on the single speed? Can you advise before purchase. Answer:
The wheel will fit a (current) 3 speed Brompton - we made a video on changing a 6 speed (a 3 speed with a derailleur) to a 2 speed - The flat axle is a Sturmey Archer feature

When changing the sprockets - it's also a good idea to change the chain. Everything else should be OK
