CatEye SYNC CORE 500 Lm front light

This is one clever light, or so we think. The CatEye SYNC CORE as you might expect from the name is at the heart of the Cateye SYNC lighting system. CatEye SYNC means: synchronised, customisable and communicative (more about that below).

The key features of this CatEye SYNC CORE are:

Compact light weight and rechargeable front light
500 Lm output for maximum visibility
Greater side visibility
Customisable modes via the SYNC app
Power button communicates pairing and provides battery life information
Polycarbonate body and weighs in at 94 g including fitting band

The light on top changes colour as follows:

Green on - showing that the other lights are pared
Off - paired lights are disconnected
Green flash - low battery on the rear light
Red flash - low battery on the core light (this light)

Depending on what mode you run this light in it has the following runtimes: 

High: 500 Lm, 2 hours
Middle: 150 Lm, 9 hours
Low: 100 Lm, 15 hours
Daytime Hyper Constant: 500 / 100 Lm, 18 hours
Flashing: 100 Lm, 130 hours (that's a long time, about 5.4 days - we have not tested it)
Charging takes approx. 3 - 6 hours (USB 2.0)
For UK customers - this light should be used in conjunction with a British Standard 6102/3 light

This system has been by CatEye using data from the Institute for Traffic Accident Research and Data Analysis in Japan. This important data is relevant to all modern cities with commuting cyclists across the globe.
