Purchased this item to help me cycle up local hills. I included a new compatible chain but I made the mistake by ordering the wrong chain however this error was picked up by Brilliantbikes before it was shipped and they sent me the correct chain. Delivery was quick and included latex gloves.
The 44T has made a big difference to me. Before this modification I needed to stop and push my Brompton up my local hills but now I can manage them without stopping.
The video by Hannah are very helpful and the process of removing and installing was made very clear. 10/10

Well worth it for hilly regions

I changed my 50 tooth for this 44 tooth chain ring and found the hills (finally) were not so difficult. Tip: There is the Park Tool Chain Ring Nut Wrench CNW-2 which helped me torque the bolts properly. Without this tool I couldn't torque things properly.

Good conversion for extra low gears

As other reviewers, a doddle to fit. As the chain ring nuts weren't seized didn't need a chain ring nut spanner. The two redundant links easily removed with a chain link extractor.
Still enough high gearing on the 6 speed Brompton for me (you need to be going some to spin out) and makes the climbs more achievable.

Good for the old knees!

If your knees are getting on a bit then you will be wanting one of these! Takes about 5 minutes to change over. Makes hills a good deal easier. Do yourself a favour and buy the matching chain to save having to shorten your existing chain by 2 links.

Designed for Cumbria

As someone riding a Brompton out of it's natural city habitat, the 44T chainring has made it easier to say in the saddle on many a Cumbrian climb.

Shortly going for a ride over some alpine passes where I'm sure this will come in handy too.

Great service from Brilliant Bikes and simple to fit and shorten chain if you have a few basic tools.
