Brompton kevlar tyre

With reflective sidewall strip fir side visibility when riding at night - ETRTO size 37-349

This has been the standard tyre supplied with all new Brompton folding bikes since 2010, but in 2017 is being phased out. It will be replaced with a Marathon Racer - expected early 2018. Until then Brompton are fitting the Schwalbe Marathon at no extra cost

In 2013 it was changed slightly.The tyre is now all black (instead of black and grey), and the green label (it was often referred to as the "Brompton Green tyre") is gone.

The Brompton wheel size is 349 (this is the diameter of the bead seat of the rim, where it sits on the shoulder inside the rim if you like)

This Brompton tyre size is 16 1 3/8 " or ETRTO/ISO size 37-349

The Kevlar lining underneath the tread helps to reduce the chance of getting a puncture.

The reflective side wall on the tyre will help improve your visibility - especially to cars approaching you from the side and as you pull out of or wait at junctions.

Our recommended inner tube for this tyre is the Schwalbe AV4, Brompton supply the QTUB as standard. (The main differences are that the AV4 is lighter and has a rim nut to secure the valve in place - most useful when inflating the tyre from flat or wheeling the bike when you have a puncture)

Tyre pressures for the Brompton kevlar tyre:
Front: 75 to 90 PSI (max 100 PSI / 6.8 bar)
Rear: 85 to 100 PSI (max 100 PSI / 6.8 bar)

    This tyre was discontinued a number of years ago. The alternative we would recommend would be the Continental Contact Urban Tyre in Black/Reflex 16 x 1.35, link as follows: https://brilliantbikes.co.uk/brompton-tyres-tubes/3481-continental-contact-urban-tyre-16-inch.html. You should be able to select Spain for shipping and it will show you the cost, any problems just drop us a mail.

    So sorry these were discontinued a number of years ago, and replaced by the Marathon racer, if you want the best puncture resistance we would recommend the Marathon Plus, or the Continental Contact Urban
